Rotary Voice Coil (RVC) motors are ideal actuators for high acceleration applications with limited angular operation. There are two types of designs available: Arc-segmented type RCV motors are excellent solutions for short stroke and precise positioning applications. These direct drive motors have no cogging and zero backlash with high acceleration. The main applications for RVC motors are medical, industrial, defense and aerospace.
LAT Motors
Limited Angle Torque (LAT) motors are different types of direct drive torque motors with limited rotation. LAT motors are supplied with two components as stator and rotor. Low inertia of the motor allows for high acceleration of the payload. Furthermore, large diameter to stack length ratio enables the LAT motor to fit into spaces where standard motors cannot. Large excursion is greater than 180 degrees can also be achieved in such motors.
